Rough Draft -
My work is about the unspoken reality of the average; it’s a narrative-
portrait of American life through the lens of my personal
experiences. The work Focuses on layering episodes of time to create
images that encapsulate each individual narrative into a single cell.
The American dream and the reality of American life are primary in my
works subject, specifically remedial labor and the mundane. I speak
to our overinflated expectations of what we deserve and the torture
that ensues when we fail, and eventually give up.
Just Figured i would post a Rough Draft maybe get an opinion. my 1st critique is on the 14th, ill have pictures posted soon

I haven’t posted in awhile because I haven’t produced an new images, I have about 20 Blocks cut, and on Thursday ill be instructed on how to use a Vandercook to print my woodblocks, so I can make larger editions. I have been writing a lot for classes, reading a lot of literature on contemp theory, which a lot of I don’t agree with but I find it very interesting. I should have some pictures posted by Thursday next week. Once i can order paper, they expect me to pay 4.50 for a sheet of rives here, so im switching to Revere paper and ordering in bulk which should run me 2.10 a sheet ill be jumping into a huge series of monoprints, and printing my woodblocks. I look forward to being able to post some new stuff. However I did just got a Duplex ive been living in a extended stay hotel, so it will be nice to be able to set up a house for me and Danielle.

Hello!
Just posting up some new drawings, been cutting rejectus up a lot. I have found by starting 10 drawings at a time and reworking my favorites usually gives me about 5 that i dont care to revisits. So I have been cutting those starts up and trying to make some compositions out of the lame ones that I dont like. so thats what these are im also trying a little harder not to over work areas which i have a tendency to do.

I finished the last seasons of Art:21 and my end conclusion is disappointment. The show was educational and enlightening in the way that it showed me that what is now praised and progressive , is typically not what I enjoy to look at or here about. Working through problems and making new discoveries is trampled underfoot by the need to fill commissions biennials and the creation of a finished products.
In conclusion I wanted to see some one work to make something with there hands. But more often than not I saw a lot of uninspired dis-attached novice filmmakers and wanna be philosophers.

Got a bunch of cheap paint from Michael’s to play around with and its actually turning out quite nicely, it does not mix with water but mixes well with Matt Medium. Another plus is that it has a Chalky texture when dry, which is great for drawing over with pencils. the Biggest Con is that due to low pigment quality it doesn’t mix to make a wide variety of colors
